Week 12 Update: March 2-6

Your reflective essay is due on Thursday at 8:50 a.m.!  Don’t procrastinate as this is worth 80 points toward your final exam.  We will also be going over the presentation requirements.  Do not stress out about this.  You have worked on your website for 11 weeks.  You know the content, graphics, and codes well.  You are able to explain this to the class.  Believe in yourself;  Why should I know you can do this, but you have doubts?

Week 10/11 Update: February 17-27

Remember, your item pages are due on Wednesday! We will be working on our last page this week. Keep going strong. It is amazing how the finished sites look and how long this takes to put a quality website together.

Don’t forget all of the problem solving, critical thinking, and teamwork you have also mastered by being in this class.  I am so proud of you.

Week 8/9 Update: February 2-13

We will be going over our fancy media requirements, image map, video, scrolling marquee, slideshow, this week in order to make your item pages pop!  It would be in your best interest to begin thinking about ideas regarding this components.  I will show you examples, but it is up to you to make them work within the constraints of your own personalized site.  I am excited to read your content as well;  I will give this back to you as soon as possible!

I am keeping the same announcement up due to the snow days!  Have you built a snowman lately?  You are never too old to create a fort.  🙂

Week 7 Update: January 26-30

New beginnings are the best. This week offers a fresh start to the trimester. We will be working on pages 2, 3, and 4 together. You will write new content, create a customized video and slideshow, and use effects to enhance a photo. Because these pages provide the most interest, in terms of your ability to escape death, they should be polished and professional.

Week 5 Update: January 12-19

This week is very important as you will create a customized banner and navigation buttons.  These elements will make your website pop!  Let me know if you get behind or are making mistakes in your code.  Trust me, it can get messy and you will become frustrated if you leave them unattended.  FYI, I love this class.  You are hard workers and care about your end product.  Plus, you help others around you and are just cool in general.  Thank you.

Week 4 Update: January 5-9

I hope you had a lovely holiday break!  I’m so excited that we will begin building our real survival first webpage this week!  You will feel quite accomplished as the framework will be used on all other pages.  Keep brainstorming picture ideas (hand drawings or photographs) as you will use them throughout the course of the trimester.

Week 3 Update: December 15-19

Christmas break is almost here! Before we begin cheering, we have a quiz to take this week. I will be transparent regarding the content, but you need to study to ace it. When coding is new, it may cause some problems. However, I promise, you will get used to the specific rules and learn how-to create a professional website from it. Work hard so that you may enjoy your time off!

Week 2 Update: December 8-12

Now that we have completed the setup of our course, we can move on to creating a graphic organizer for our website and complete our first photoshop lesson.  Do you have pictures that relate to this trimester’s theme of Survival:  Lost in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula?  Did you bring your notebook?  Preparation is key for this course.  I am excited to see your ideas come to life.  Buckle up.  We will be starting to pick up speed from this point forward.
